Job Openings: Civil Engineering

All positions are based in the Engineering Services Group's Civil Engineering Division (Riverbend Office).

Senior Engineer/Project Manager

Responsibilities

  • Manage and coordinate civil design involving subdivision development, municipal engineering, and site development, including site planning, grading, site servicing, stormwater management, etc.
  • Oversee all aspects of projects, including technical elements, agency approvals, project-team coordination, and customer relationships.
  • Contribute to surveys, assessments, design tasks, and project coordination
  • Liaise with municipalities, conservation authorities, and other approvals agencies
  • Interface with customers to maintain relationships and develop new business
  • Technical supervision, monitoring, and mentoring for junior team members
  • Contribute to development of fee estimates, RFP responses, and presentations for new and existing customers.

Qualifications

  • 8+ years' experience in a consulting engineering environment, with applied knowledge of site planning, subdivision design, hydrology, stormwater management, and report writing
  • Licensed member of Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)
  • Experience and familiarity with a wide variety of municipal systems and materials
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analysis and design
  • Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of or an interest in sustainable design and LEEDŽ is an asset
  • Exceptional communication, technical, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated skill managing and supervising team members with an eye toward development and coaching.

 


Intermediate Civil Engineer

Responsibilities

  • Complete design functions on assigned projects including preliminary and detailed grading, servicing and storm water management design
  • Specification research and report writing, and overseeing production of drawings.
  • Co-ordinate the civil work with other design disciplines involved in each project.
  • Assume overall responsibility for project budget, schedule and quality control.
  • Maintain contact with customers, approval agencies, sub-consultants etc.
  • Provide direction to Junior Staff

Qualifications

  • Registered with PEO or OACETT
  • Graduate of Civil Engineering program
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in a consulting engineering environment
  • Superior knowledge of Civil 3D
  • Excellent project management skills combined with experience in municipal road design, sewer and subdivision design, hydrology and stormwater management, environmental assessments and report writing are required
  • Knowledge and understanding of relevant and standard codes
  • Excellent communication skills for interaction and correspondence with customers, design team and approval agencies
  • Excellent work ethic and desire to succeed.
