Senior Engineer

Team

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to multi-disciplinary projects involving studies, new construction, renovation, and adaptive reuse
  • Carry out surveys, assessments, design tasks, project coordination, and quality assurance
  • Develop concept, schematic, and detailed designs for electrical project scope, including lighting, power supply and distribution, telecommunications, life safety, energy management, etc.
  • Coordinate electrical and telecommunications service supply requirements with utility companies
  • Complete electrical service and distribution systems calculations and equipment selection, including demand loading, fault current assessment, protective device coordination, and ESA review package documentation
  • Complete lighting design (indoor /outdoor) including fixtures, lamps, ballast selection, and lighting calculations to IES standards
  • Coordination of electrical installation requirements and space needs with other design disciplines
  • Prepare specifications to supplement drawings in project bid packages
  • Technical supervision, monitoring, and mentoring for junior team members
  • Interface with customers to maintain relationships and develop new business
  • Contribute to development of fee estimates, RFP responses, and presentations for new and existing customers.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years' experience in a consulting engineering environment, designing institutional, commercial, and industrial projects
  • Licensed member of Professional Engineers of Ontario (PEO)
  • Solid working knowledge of the National Building Code, Ontario Building Code, and other relevant codes and standards
  • Experience and familiarity with a wide variety of building systems and materials
  • Demonstrated proficiency in analysis and design
  • Knowledge and experience using AutoCAD
  • Knowledge of or an interest in sustainable design and LEED® is an asset
  • Exceptional communication, technical, and problem-solving skills
  • Demonstrated skill managing and supervising team members with an eye toward development and coaching.


CAD Operator

Team

Responsibilities

  • Preparing Electrical drawings with limited design initially, and then progressing as needed.
  • Successful applicants will have a good understanding of building construction and basic electrical concepts, be self-motivated and proficient in AutoCAD 2004 or later.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of the Electrical Engineering Technology program.
  • Self motivated/team player.
  • Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
  • Exposure to construction terms and methodology an asset.
  • Eager to learn and take on new challenges.
