EMS: Cambridge and St. Jacobs
TWFP designed two EMS ambulance stations for the Region of Waterloo as part of their new EMS services plan. Based on the Region's standardized schematic design, each of the two projects was developed to respond to the specific nature of their respective sites. Both buildings are designed with energy-efficient HRV systems and occupancy sensors in transient rooms.
The EMS station in Cambridge was built adjacent to Fire Hall No. 4, and includes a single ambulance drive-through bay, crew quarters, and storage for short-term supplies. The exterior design blends with the existing fire hall.
The St. Jacobs EMS followed the same functional program, while its architectural design and materials were chosen to blend with the adjacent Woolwich Community Health Centre.
